Political spending activity from 3/13-3/26

On to the toplines …
In the last two weeks, there were 143 unique political ads that aired 15,000 times and we tracked $17.4M in political spending by 552 advertisers.
The highest spending advertisers of the last two weeks were Judicial Crisis Network, House Majority Forward, and Heritage Action for America.
Judicial Crisis Network spent a total of $1.5M and aired three ads. The group currently has one ad on air targeting Senator Joe Manchin over the confirmation of Vanita Gupta. This ad has been on air for 9 days and has 852 airings.
House Majority Forward has spent a total of $1.3M to support Representatives Cindy Axne, Vincent Gonzalez, Antonio Delgado, Ron Kind, and Elaine Luria over the Covid-19 relief package and stimulus checks.
Heritage Action for America has one ad currently on air in Atlanta about election laws.
New York, New York was the top market with $2.9M in spending, followed by Washington, D.C. at $2.7M.
Louisianans went to the polls this week. Julia Letlow was elected to her late husband Luke Letlow’s seat in LA-05. She spent a total of $135K.
In LA-02, Karen Carter Peterson and Troy Carter advanced to the special general. Peterson has spent $359K so far and Carter has spent $424K.
The NRSC started spending in AZ, GA, NV, NH. The ads go on air Monday.
Covid-19 isn’t going anywhere. In the last two weeks, 40 ads aired on TV that referenced the Coronavirus. These are the top two ads :
- 560 airings from New York State Teachers Union, “Bring Them Back Safely”
- 378 airings from We Are Home Action, “Stop Dividing Us”
