Mississippi gubernatorial primary arrives

The 16 Counties Coalition, a dark money group that bills itself as a Maine grassroots advocacy fund, released an ad targeting Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) over Medicare and the GOP tax bill. The group says it is part of a “six-figure” campaign that’ll feature television, digital and radio ads. [AdImpact] tracks $722,000 in broadcast spending between now and early January 2020 from Maine Momentum, which is in the “paid for” disclaimer for the ad. Maine Public’s Steve Mistler reported that the group is led by top Democratic aides in the state. Mistler asked the group if it was affiliated with the Sixteen Thirty Fund, an umbrella network of sorts for Democratic dark money groups, and Maine Momentum did not directly answer the question.
